A hangover without being hungover

This weekend, I stayed up late to watch the Conor McGregor fight.

Afraid I wouldn’t be able to stay awake (I’m in bed at 10pm and the fight started around 1am), I drank a cup of coffee before the fights started.

I didn’t fall asleep until about 5 in the morning.

When my body naturally woke up at 9, I felt violently hungover. The thing was, I haven’t had a sip of alcohol in weeks.

That’s when I realized:

• how much of our hangovers are also just sleep deprivation

• if you think you can be at the same level with less than 7 hours of sleep, you’re fooling yourself

• sleep is a keystone: it affects every other aspect of your health—eating, cravings, energy, creativity, decision making…

Get some God damn sleep.
