Shitty things

I was supposed to get on a plane today and spend a long weekend visiting friends.

Waking up with a severely sore throat and a fever, I cancelled my flight. On top of that, my roommate had to cancel her plans to join her friends for a weekend getaway.


It feels awful to be the reason someone else can’t have a good time…even though I didn’t choose any of this.

Sometimes we needs reminders that things don’t always go our way.

We have an idea of how things are going to go, but it never really happens as expected.

The only thing you can do is roll with the punches and focus entirely on what can be controlled.

In this case that’s: Isolating myself, getting tested, and resting.

Don’t wish for shitty things to never happen.

Wish for the skills to maneuver around them when they inevitably do.
