As I caught up with one of my good friends from Germany yesterday, we reminded ourselves of the most important thing in the world.
It’s cheesy and cliche, but…
The most important thing in the world for your long-term well-being is the collection of relationships and connections you have with others.
It’s sad, but one day, you will most likely be sick or dying in a hospital bed. It’s not fun to think about but it’s inevitable.
As you lay in that room, what will be in there with you? Not your car. Not your house, or career, or social media, or job…
The only thing in that room with you will be the people who are still in your life.
Cherish them. Treat them well. Help them. Reach out to them. Spend quality time with them. Laugh with them.
One day, you won’t be able to. But for now, you get to as much as you want.
That’s an incredible thing.
